I’ll send over the contract to hold the date and booth style. Once it’s signed, your date is officially reserved. No deposit is required.3. Plan the detailsAbout 8 weeks out, you'll get a Booth Prep Questionnaire covering:Event timeline & booth hoursBooth locationBackdrop selectionPrint design preferencesAny special requests or event detailsA note about print designs:Each year, I create a curated collection of print designs for you to choose from, and your logo can be added to any of the collection designs at no additional charge.Looking for something completely custom? For a $50 custom design fee, I’ll create a handful of options using your branding colors, fonts if available (or similar), and event theme for you to choose from.Have a marketing or graphics team? No problem! If you'd prefer to create the design yourself, I can provide the Photoshop templates at no additional fee.4. Finalize everythingOnce your questionnaire is complete, I’ll send your invoice, which is due any time before your event date. I’ll also send a final booth recap so we can confirm the details and make sure everything is ready to go!

Does the booth come with an attendant?

The photo booth is a guest-led experience. Over the years, we've found that guests tend to take more photos, have more fun, and be more themselves when they aren't being directly watched.Built to be foolproof, our booths are extremely easy to use with on-screen prompts guiding guests through the entire experience which is - tap to start, take your photos, tap to print, and you're done!A small instruction sign is included with the booth.Stephanie, the owner, is always available by text if assistance is needed.Depending on the event, Stephanie may also be present for part or all of the event at her discretion.
Bottom line: Your guests can enjoy the booth on their own, take as many photos as they'd like, while knowing help is always just a text away.

How does the holiday print design work?

You'll choose your print design from our curated 2026 Holiday Collection, created specifically for the season.Collection designs are included with your package.Your logo or wording can be added to any collection design at no additional charge.The full 2026 Holiday Collection will be available by October 1st. If you're booking before then, you'll choose your design later during the booth prep process.Want something completely custom? A $50 custom design fee includes a few design options created around your branding, colors, fonts, and event theme.Have a marketing or graphics team? We can provide the Photoshop template at no additional charge if you'd prefer to create the design yourself.You don't need to have your print design figured out when you book — we'll take care of those details during the booth prep process.

What are some requirements for setup?

Power: Needs access to a standard three-prong outlet (rarely an issue — we've set up at most venues in the Pittsburgh area)Indoors only: No outdoor setups, including patios, tents, or porches — this protects the booth from lighting, weather, and bugsSpace: Footprint is about 10t x 10ft x 10ftBackdrop placement: All backdrops supplied by Lux Photobooth must be placed along a solid wall. The backdrop does not need to be attached to the wall — the wall simply provides additional support and stability to keep the backdrop securely in place during the event.Prop table: If props are included with your package, the venue will need to provide a small table for props. Lux Photobooth does not provide a prop table. Anything between a hightop table to something around 6ft is great (8ft tables are a bit much).

How and when do we get our photos?

Timing: Typically within 24–72 hours. Events Thursday–Sunday (our busiest days) may take the full 72 hoursDelivery: You'll get a link to an online gallery -  password-protected if elected, depending on your eventDownloads: Option to download all images from the gallerySharing: Share the gallery link with who you'd like if gallery access is restricted from guests.

How does the printing work? How many prints come out?

Up to 10 prints per session — plenty for almost any group sizeFast printing: ~12 seconds per print (one 4x6 or two 2x6 strips) — one of the quickest portable printers availableTexting: Guests can text themselves images as they come through (optional)Gallery access: All photos are also available in the online gallery and can be shared with guests (can be password protected if you'd like)

When do you set up and take down the booth?

Setup timing can vary depending on your event timeline and where the booth will be located.Most often, we set up before guests arrive, even if the booth doesn't start until later. This is our preferred setup method whenever the event space allows.For more casual events, we typically aim to arrive 60 minutes before the booth start time.If the booth is opening later in the evening — for example, after dinner — we may set up during dinner if the booth is located in a separate room or area. This allows us to get everything ready without guests watching the load-in and setup.
Your exact setup time will be finalized closer to the event once we have your event timeline and venue logistics.Take-down: We always break down the booth at the end of your rental period, even if your event continues afterward. Our setup is intentionally minimal and streamlined, so take-down is quick and unobtrusive.

Question 8

Do I have to know how many hours I want right now? Or which backdrop?

No — those details come later. At booking, you only need to choose your booth style: Glam Booth, Classic Booth, Icon Booth, or Lux Lite. Everything else gets finalized through your Booth Prep Questionnaire (see booking process question).

How many times can guests come through the booth?

As many times as they'd like — the more photos, the better!Young children are welcome, but should be accompanied by an adult for supervision and help around the equipmentThe booth is built for average adult height, so kids may need a boost or assistanceIf kids are using the booth extensively, we may switch to digital-only (skipping prints) to keep the line moving

When is payment due?

If I book three hours, can I break up the time?

Absolutely! You can split your rental time around your event timeline. For example, you could have the booth open for an hour during the mix & mingle, then reopen it for two hours after dinner/presentations, etc.We include up to one hour of downtime at no additional charge if needed for a dinner or presentation time. If you'd like more than one hour of downtime, an idle time fee of $50 per half hour will apply.A few things to keep in mind:The booth cannot be moved once it has been set up, so you'll want to choose its location with the entire evening in mind.Don't worry if the booth is in a different room than the DJ or dance floor — guests will find it! 😉 In fact, we've found that guests are often happy to step away from the dance floor for a few minutes to use the booth.Splitting your rental time can be a great way to have the booth available during multiple parts of your event without paying for hours when you don't need it.
